Lake Jemaye - the beach

NEARBY TOWNS

Riberac is 10km away, it is a vibrant market town with several supermarkets, banks, the main post office, numerous restaurants, bars and cafes. It has a busy market every Friday.


The larger city of Perigueux, the capital of the Dordogne area is approximately 30 minutes away, boasting markets every Wednesday and Saturday mornings.


Aubeterre is a picturesque hilltop town with restaurants, river beach, canoeing, potteries, underground church and weekend market is approx. 20-25 minutes away.


Brantome, a beautiful town, known as ‘the Venice of the Dordogne’, is approx. 30 minutes away.

ACTIVITIES

GOLF

Golf course at Longeveau (9 hole), good facilities including tennis courts, bar and restaurant, slightly further afield is a an 18 hole golf course at Perigueux.


ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

On the doorstep of Les Forets Sud is the Forest of Double offering trails for walking, horse-riding and bike riding, giving the chance to explore some of rural France. As it is a natural area the forest does have wild animals running freely, predominantly wild boar and deer.

 

There is also the ability to explore and visit Frances’ famous vineyards, Bergerac approx. 1 hour away, Bordeaux approx. 1 ½ hours away and Saint Emillion approx 1 ¼ hours.

COAST/BEACHES

Within a short drive is Lake Jemaye which has a beach, children’s play area, water sports, restaurants and bars. The lake is supervised by lifeguards at the peak of the season (July/August).


Arcachon is on the coast, approx. 2 hours away which has the Dune du Pyla, the highest sand dune in Europe.


There is also a beach at Royan which is approximately 80 minutes drive.
